Markets in the Basque Country

BAYONNE

Located in the heart of the historic city of Bayonne, this colourful market is a must for visitors in search of culinary delights. Let yourself be seduced by the tempting aromas of the stalls offering fresh produce such as Bayonne ham, Basque cheeses, seafood and the famous Espelette chillies. And don't forget to try the delicious Basque chocolate, a local speciality not to be missed.

The covered market is open every day, with 21 traders, with different opening times each day. (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7am to 1.30pm / Friday: 7am to 2.30pm / Saturday: 6am to 2.30pm / Sunday and public holidays: 8am to 2.30pm)

ANGLET

The Anglet market is a lively place where you can discover a variety of fresh, local produce. Every Thursday and Sunday morning, from 8am to 1pm, on the Quintaou esplanade and Friday night market from 6pm to 11pm.
Halles des 5 Cantons covered market, Monday to Sunday, 8am to 2pm and Friday, 4pm to 8pm, in July and August. Closed on Mondays from September to June.

BIARRITZ

If you're staying in Biarritz, be sure to visit its lively market. As well as fresh produce, you'll find stalls selling clothes, accessories, jewellery and objets d'art.
